UT Austin / McCombs MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Student / On-campus
I had an hour-long interview with a second-year student in a dedicated interview room: one table, one window, two chairs, no decorations. He asked the following questions: Walk me through your resume. What do you bring to McCombs that is unique? Why McCombs? What do you think makes a good leader? What will be your greatest non-academic challenge at McCombs? Who would you pick for your 5-person team at McCombs? Do you have any questions for me?

USC / Marshall MBA Admissions Interview Questions: USC / Marshall MBA Admissions Interview Questions
I am a foreign applicant based in India. I applied in Rd1 (Nov 2)and Marshall folks had come down to Bangalore in the first week of december as part of the MBA tour. So fortunately, I got an opportunity to interview directly with an Adcom member. I say fortunately because all my previous interview experiences had been telephonic or skype (webcam). I was quite nervous about a face-2-face interview. I had worn a suit, and thought that i looked smart, and that probably gave me a bit of confidence. The interviewer was extremely nice and polite and made it an

Yale SOM MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Second Year Student / On-Campus
My interview was with a second-year student in a small conference room near the admissions office. I asked to move up my interview time because of some rescheduling I needed to do, and the admissions staff was very helpful in facilitating that. I didn’t look at a clock, but I’d say the interview lasted from 30 to 40 minutes. My interviewer started off by describing a little bit about himself. After that he looked over my resume and we talked through some f my various positions. He noted a couple of bullet points and asked me to explain them more

Tepper MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Phone / Adcom
it was a very informal discussion of my application. the interviewer put me at complete ease with some general conversation about the weather and other small talk. and then we began discussing my application. it was mostly a reiteration of my application essays. the questions ( and i think in this order): walk me thru your resume/career — which then naturally lead to why MBA — which then led to my post mba short term goals — which then led to why Tepper — and i think there was some mention of what I will bring to Tepper; and then

Ross MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Off-campus / Alumni
Only a thirty minute interview! It was practically over before it began. The alumn with whom I interviewed was very nice. He asked all the basic questions – walk me through your resume, why Ross, why now, etc. He also asked the basic leadership questions, e.g. tell me about a leadership role, etc. We talked about the MAP program a bit, but that’s probably because I mentioned it as a reason to go to Ross, and then most of my current work is international so we talked about the diversity of Ross (e.g. high proportion of international students). I explored

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Alumni / Off-campus
My interviewer was absolutely lovely-she reinforced all the great things I have heard about Kellogg. We started out discussing the application process (which I found very helpful), followed by my background and experiences, and why I want to go to Kellogg (e.g. why Kellogg, why an MBA, why now?) She probed a bit as to what drew me to Kellogg specifically (be able to say clubs/classes you’d be interested in). Then she asked lots of leadership experiences, What makes a good leader/a bad leader? Tell me about a time you’ve been on a team that has failed. Not sure I

Tuck MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / On-campus – self-initiated / AdCom
I completed a self-initiated interview at Tuck. It was very laid-back, informal interview. The interviewer was very pleasant and made me feel very comfortable. Walk me through your resume Tell about a time you worked on a team. What are the qualities that make you successful on a team? Tell me about a time you experienced conflict on a team, and how you handled it? Why MBA, Why Tuck?

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Alumni / Off-campus
Interviewer was very friendly and certainly a huge supporter of Kellogg. Kicked it off mentioning her background, then had me walk her through my resume. Greatest accomplishment at work How have you handled conflict / disagreement What type of leader are you? Describe the type of leader you would like to be What role do you normally take on in a team? Tuck MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / On-campus / Adcom
~45 minutes, very laid back We definitely covered the whole resume, though not in order, i.e. no “walk me through your resume” question. Got the standard why MBA and why Tuck questions. Asked me what type of leader I was Inquired about how I spend free time For long term goals, asked if I had any ideas (since I mentioned entrepreneur aspirations) Ended by asking what I had hoped she would ask but didn’t. I responded that I was expecting more about my lack of a quant background, which led to some talk about GMAT scores. Overall very friendly and

Chicago Booth MBA Admissions Interview Qusetions: Round 2 / Alum / Off-campus
I interviewed for the R2 at Chicago Booth with an alumni and off campus ( I am an international candidate). We met at his office and he received me 10 minutes before our appointment (I arrived a little early). The interview was overall a great experience, and relaxed. – It lasted a little over an hour and he asked me if I was fine spending a little more time in our conversation (which I obviously was). It flowed like a conversation and he kept following up on my answers. In the end, it felt very natural, but covered all the

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Adcom / On-campus
The interview was in the morning, and the admissions office is very friendly and professional. The admissions officer was on time for the interview, which lasted for half an hour. In the afternoon, I attended a competitive strategy course, which was very helpful in getting a feel of what life is like as a Kellogg student. The admissions officer seemed glad that I was planning to stay the afternoon to attend a class. The admissions officer was very nice and friendly, made me feel comfortable. She didn’t seem like she wanted to stump me with questions but just get a

UVA / Darden MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Adcom / Telephonic
I applied to Darden in round 1. Got interview invite in last week of December. It was a telephonic interview with adcom on January 7th. It was a telephonic interview and it was very casual. Adcom interviewed me and it was a blind interview. Adcom had no access to my application or resume. As I was an international applicant, I was offered an telephonic interview. There was only 1 main question – tell me your story. But the interviewer asked me to cover information about my childhood, my education, my jobs and why mba would make sense. Also touch upon

IESE MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Off-campus / Adcom
My interview was scheduled over Video Conference on Monday, 25th January from Mumbai. It was conducted by Isabel Estalella, who was very warm and friendly, exchanged pleasantries, made me feel comfortable during the interview. She asked me if she could take notes during the interview, and I agreed. It started as a general interview, where she asked me to introduce myself and share some information about my friends/family, how much I am in touch with my college group. It went on to ask me about my leadership experience/ a time when I was pushed to my limits at work, and

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Adcom / On-campus
Interviewed on campus, recently. The interviewer was a nice lady, but was stern. She didn’t corner me, but I didn’t feel a whole lot comfortable throughout the interview. Hence, am not sure if the interview went well or not. Typical questions: Walk me through your resume What are your long and short term goals? Where would you ideally want to be in a year from now? (interesting) How does Kellogg fit into this picture? Give me an example when you were not involved as a leader. (interesting) What would your classmates say about you? Any questions for me? Tepper MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / On-campus / Adcom
I had applied in the round 1 for Tepper school of business and was preselected for the interview on Campus based on the my resume and GMAT scores even before I had submitted the application. I do not think this is the same case with remote interviews. I had my interview with adcom member, Laurene Capone and It was not at all a stress interview. However, it was properly structured. The interview started with her describing how the interview will go and she specifically told me the time by which it should be should be wound up. I am not

Berkeley / Haas MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alum / Off-campus / Admitted
Haas invited me to interview off-campus in the Bay Area about three weeks before the decision deadline. While I was initially confused and concerned that my interview would be off-campus as opposed to Super Saturday, I learned from reading some online chats with Haas Admissions that Super Saturday is primarily for non-Bay Area residents and that an alumni interview was certainly no slight. I met the alumnus at his office, and he escorted me to a conference room. The alumnus was very friendly and prepared to interview me that morning (e.g., my resume printed out with some notes on it).

Didn’t directly ask Short and Long -term goals but we worked it in Talk about how you work in teams? (particularly with little guidance) Talk about time you had to resolve a conflict and disagree with a teammate Tell me about some of your activities outside of work What about your analytical skills (I gave several examples of analytical background but he seemed most impressed when I cited understanding a specific

Pretty straight forward, only hiccups is that the Alum requested we meet a food court at 7 pm and it closed at 7:05. She didn’t know the area that well but thankfully, I had noticed Ruby Tuesdays so we went there for an iced tea. Not sure what the takeaway is but helpful to have back-up locations. Walk me through your resume. Only probing question: she asked how I built clients in my industry ( I am an entrepreuneur) but accepted my answer. Why an MBA Why Now Why Kellogg Tell me about how you work in Teams What do
