UNC / Kenan-Flagler MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Phone Interview
Interview was very conversational. It started off with the interviewer introducing himself. It was more like the interviewer was going through my resume and asking me for clarifications/elaborations. One question he stressed upon was: What would you do at UNC? and What do you want to do post-MBA? We then discussed a lot of light topics (including Slumdog Millionaire). Overall, it was a good experience though I feel I could have done better.

Chicago Booth MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / On-Campus / 2nd year
Interviewed with a 2nd year student on what they call “Super Saturday” at Booth (they had about 100 interviews that day). Interviewer was a former IT professional (I think that when possible, they match you up with interviewer from same professional background). The interview went well, had a conversational tone to it, and was really short (30 mins)! For the most part he stuck to standard questions and gave me free reign to talk. He asked questions for about 20 mins, and the rest of the time was spent giving me the opportunity to ask him any questions I had.

NYU / Stern MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / On-campus
The interview itself was only 25 minutes long, with a very young woman — perhaps a recent graduate, though she did not say. Interestingly, she didn’t even ask me, Why an MBA or Why now! She asked me (in roughly this order): Why did you choose UndergradA? How did you go about choosing UndergradA? What will you do at CompanyA when you go back tomorrow? How did you find your job? How did you choose CompanyB right after college? What’s 1 thing you liked and didn’t like about CompanyB? What’s a challenge you faced at CompanyB? What do you want

IESE MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 3 / Adcom via VC
I used one of the best providers in my country (Russia) but still had some technical problems in the beginning which caused a 25 minutes delay. Just before the interview time I received a new extension number that didn’t work. I called to IESE and they said they had problems with their equipment. Then I received incoming call from Barcelona with just 128 kbps quality instead of 384 kbps. Though the quality of video was not very good while sound was even worth (I had to make efforts to hear questions). A guy who interviewed me was quite professional and

INSEAD MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / September Intake / Off-campus / Alumni
I received notification of my interview decision somewhat on the early side, about a month before the deadline. Nonetheless, I received the interviewer details from my admissions coordinator about the same time as everyone else. A couple days after receiving the details, my coordinator contacted me to let me know that one of my original interviewers (female, and I am female) would not be able to do the interview and that they would have to find someone else. It took about a week, but they found a replacement somewhat within my area. First Interview My first interview was with the

Yale SOM MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Adcom / On-campus
I had a positive experience interviewing with a member of the Yale admissions committee. With my previous experiences (an interview at another school and a mock interview with a Yale student), I felt relatively prepared, and I think it helped me loosen up for my session. Though most of the reports I’ve read mentioned that 2nd year students held the interviews, I was scheduled during break time and mentally prepared for a member of the admissions committee. This turned out to be a good choice, as I did get an adcom member for my interview. The others waiting at my

MIT / Sloan MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Off-campus / Accepted!
My interview seemed like the standard MIT Sloan interview. I was told to recall stories that I had not mentioned in my application. I cannot remember all the questions, but here are most of them. Tell me a time when something unexpected happened to you Tell me when you did something innovative Tell me a time when you influenced someone (Then a follow up question to my answer was: Can you tell me what your plan was?). Tell me how Sloan ranks against the other schools you applied to Is there a question you wish I had asked? What questions

Tepper MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2
The interview went pretty well although it was difficult for me to get her impression of the interview. In terms of the questions, covered the following: Talk about your background Why MBA Why now Why Tepper Talk about your leadership style & challenge that displayed the leadership style and what are the weaknesses in your application (mentioned GMAT but seems like she wanted more). How will you contribute?

Cornell / Johnson MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / On-campus / Adcom / Accepted!
I interviewed on campus in January. School was not fully in session when I visited, but all the first year students were around for their Immersions. As such, walking around at Sage Hall, I was able to converse with multiple current students regarding their experience. I would highly recommend doing the info session BEFORE the interview. I found it very helpful, and was able to relate what I saw during the information session to answer questions of why I was a good fit at Cornell during the interview. My interview was with an adcom member in the late afternoon. She

Berkeley / Haas MBA Interview Report: Round 1 / On-campus / Adcom / Super Saturday
There were approximately 100 applicants at Super Saturday this year. Interviews were scheduled over four hours and the timing of interviews was random. I interviewed with Peter Johnson, Director of MBA Admissions. Although I was a bit nervous at first, Mr. Johnson was a very approachable and amiable person and a pleasure to speak with during the interview. The interview was much more conversational than my previous admission interviews. Throughout our conversation we touched on the following topics: Walk me through your resume. What are your post MBA goals? Why an MBA, why Haas? Tell me about a leadership experience.

Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alumni / Off-Campus
The alum interviewed me in a cafe in the downtown. It seems that his calendar is pretty full that afternoon. He invited at least 4 or 5 applicant that day and give everyone 1 hour. So it seems like a adcom interview. The interviewer is very nice and he is an EMBA graduated in West Campus. Questions: Tell me about what you do. Why MBA? Why Wharton now? Career Goal Leadership Experience Is there anything else you would like to share with the adcom which is not detailed in your resume or application? Any Question for me?

INSEAD MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Off-Campus / Alumni / Accepted!
Both my interviews were off campus. My first interviewer was with a guy who currently works in a senior position at an investment bank. We set up in the interview over lunch in the financial district. The interview lasted about any hour. He asked: Walk me through your resume. Did you apply to any other schools? Why? The interviewer then proceeded to tell me that he has interviewed numerous candidates for the school and knew what to look for. He spoke highly of his experience and thought it was a very international school. The interview went successfully and he promised

I applied to R1 and I visited the school for the interview. My interview was taken by second year student. He had not seen my application. Tuck MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Nov. Round / Applicant-initiated / 2 yr student / On-campus
To have my interview done before the deadline, I scheduled the interview on the last day and submitted the application right after the interview in the lounge. The interview was very generic, 30 mins, same as what was published on clearadmit. It was a blind interview by a second year student, who had already got a offer from Merill Lynch. The interview itself was very laid back. He had not seen my resume until I handed it to him. The interviewer was excited to tell me that all members of his band got into the same firm, and they will

Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alumni / Off-Campus
November 2008. I chose to interview with a local alumnus and found three in my area. I googled each of them and found someone who had worked for my firm (large MC). We met at his office in a conference room for about one hour. He had not read my resume even though he had access to it. Good thing I brought extra copies. He took a quick read and the interview was HIGHLY conversational. He had very few formal questions and didn’t seem to have an agenda at all – the only question he really wanted to ask was

Harvard MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Adcom / Off-Campus
December 2008. 30 minutes on the dot at one of their satellite interview locations in the US (e.g., Chicago, LA, Houston). It was clearly a borrowed office, no windows, quite drab, so we got down to business very quickly! Adcom introduced herself, gave a little context/what to expect, gave me a folder and pen, and then kicked off. Questions: How do you find the time to do all you do? Explain your job/industry/job function like I was a 14-year-old? What do you like about your particular company as opposed to its peers? How would the people who know you best

January 2009. Went on for a full 90 minutes (no joke) at a Starbucks near both of our offices. He had already read my resume because you’re supposed to send it in advance of the meeting. I was assigned a specific alumni interviewer in my area who I contacted and scheduled the meeting with. He introduced himself, told me about his background Then he asked me to tell him about my background/resume – why industry/why geography for current job. How does an MBA fit in with your plans and why now? I told him why Stanford but he didn’t specifically

Tuck MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Early Decision (Waitlisted) / Telephone
Just completed a telephonic interview with Tuck. (I apped in EA round, was waitlisted and then they wrote back saying that they would like to interview me) The interview was very generic. There were no surprises. It wasn’t a blind interview. I believe she had my full application in front of her or at least, had gone through that in full. Here are the Qs asked in the exact order that they were asked: Tell me something about yourself covering your education, work-ex and your motivation for an MBA. Cornell / Johnson MBA Admissions Interview Questions: On-campus / 2 yr student / Round 2/ admitted with scholarship
I had a interview on-campus at the Cornell Johnson School yesterday for the November application round. To my surprise, the admission staff didn’t even mention other options, just let me choose which time is OK for me to have the interview on campus. I drove up the morning before from New York City (4 hour drive), toured around the campus, talked to some students I contacted before and stayed at the super8 motel downtown(cheap but great). On campus parking is free for admission visitors, so don’t worry about parking. Just drive to one of the four info booth and identify

Cornell / Johnson MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Adcom / On-campus / Round 2
I interviewed on-campus at the Cornell Johnson School last week for the November application round. I drove up the night before from New York City (4 hour drive) and stayed at the Holiday Inn hotel downtown. The morning of my interview I found easy parking at a municipal parking garage in Collegetown and walked up to campus (5 minute walk) instead of trying to find on-campus parking. My interview was with a member of the Admissions Committee in their office. He had a copy of my resume and a report from the application reader. I found the interview to be
