I flew in from Eastern Europe (15 hours flying when added up), went to their Club day, met a dozen of people and students, attended an admissions event, talked with not one but a couple if AdComs, had two letters of support from current students and still nothing. And my friend applied with a 805/805 gmat and also nothing. What is going on (6)

kg950704 Likes Earned: 0 Dude, if you are ORM, you are f*ed. It doesn't matter your stats. With being an ORM, there is a major factor of luck. I was literally rank 1 in the M.A. Economics program at Columbia Univesity and did research for 6 months with a CBS professor and still nothing. Yet, someone with a 615 gmat fe and 2.99 gpa gets in. My gmat is 685 fe. (0)

anon68779 Likes Earned: 1 the admissions process has been a disaster this year - for anyone reading this, its NOT YOU, its CBS admissions on drugs. a person was admitted R1 whose claim to fame is a being a run-club influencer (2 years work experience/decent GMAT) and another person who resells artisanal products made by indigenous people from 3rd world countries at a very lofty margin. sad to see CBS admissions be a mess for the second year in a row - the lack of a dean is showing...BADLY. (1)

anon36136 Likes Earned: 37 nahhh that aint it. this process is tough as is, dont need to badmouth candidates/ adcoms lmao. So much goes into the process--can be luck, fit, or just no more space in the class. definitely dont look at the decisions at any of these schools as a reflection of yourself, but we can be sad at our outcomes without disparaging others... (4)
