Not going to lie being waitlisted has been tough and I initially felt pretty defeated. But this soon passed. I am lucky the door is still open at my dream school!
As an international applicant I am realistic about my prospects of being accepted from the waitlist and my best chance is to reapply next year… but does anyone have any waitlist advice? I don’t have the best grades or the perfect profile, but I know I can contribute a lot to CBS.

anon68429 Likes Earned: 368 Like you said: Getting Waitlisted isn't ideal, but it's still better than a ding. I'd recommend: (1) Identify weaknesses in your profile and try to bridge them. You may or may not succeed with that, but I believe the efforts will be looked positively. (2) Since your GRE score is on the lower side, take the EA exam. It's relatively easier and you can score higher, thus improving your test score. (3) Since you're confident you can contribute to CBS, highlight that in your Waitlist Updates. Further, talk to as many current students and alumni as you can to learn more about the program, maybe you'll find something new, which can be highlighted in your Waitlist Updates. Hope this helps! grichmond Verified User. Likes Earned: 1235 Some sound advice above, especially the part about taking stock of your candidacy and then working to address any gaps. I'd also add that you should be very clear with the admissions team about your absolute intention of accepting an offer to join the class of 2023, should they make you one. I know that sounds obvious, but it never hurts to be clear. I'm less certain on the GRE-->EA strategy, but you may want to ask the CBS adcom directly on that front. They are usually fairly direct in helping WL'ed candidates to understand areas for improvement. Best of luck!

anon68429 Likes Earned: 368 @GRichmond - That's a great advice. @OP - You should 100% reaffirm your commitment to join CBS. That's where talking to students and alumni shows your interest. As for the EA exam, it makes sense to ask them about it. I've heard that it does help since that improves their test score averages, hence my suggestion. Best of luck! (2)
