From USA, went to T30 uni (STEM major), and my college program is ranked T5. I was an undergrad trying to skip deferred enrollment. I successfully obtained test waivers for 8 different T25 MBA programs. I got rejected or waitlisted from 7 of them. Now, I was accepted off a waitlist! With a generous merit-based scholarship! My strategy: submitted an email thanking them for the waitlist offer and a reiteration of my commitment to want to attend Olin. I submitted one or two career updates. A few days ago, I randomly received an automated text message from WashU saying “Good afternoon! Thank you for opting in to receive text updates from WashU Olin Business School.” It was odd since I haven’t interacted with the school or heard back in almost two months so I believed it was a random glitch and thought nothing of it. Fast forward to yesterday afternoon, I get a phone call from an admissions staff member asking if I was still interested in WashU Olin. I said absolutely and the staff member told me they were going to try to see if they could advocate to get me off the waitlist and hung up. I was confused about what that could mean, until 10 minutes later I received an acceptance email from WashU! I guess my dream of getting the MBA program over with is not for nothing! I want to go into entrepreneurship, thus waiting to get one is not so important, and I am not interested in finance either. Thank you ClearAdmit community for all the applicant tips and tricks!
