Overview

The ASU Carey Online MBA program offers prospective students the same experience as earning a full-time MBA degree, but with the added flexibility of a 100 percent online format. The same faculty who teaches Carey’s part-time and full-time MBA programs also teach the Carey Online MBA program. The program costs $66,266 in tuition and requires students to complete 49 credits for graduation. While applicants are expected to complete the program in 24 months, there is an option to complete the program in 36 months. There are 515 students in the ASU Carey Online MBA class and the typical student has 5.5 years of work experience and graduated college with a 3.3 GPA.

Curriculum

The ASU Carey Online MBA requires 49 credits for graduation. Students must take 3 credit hours of core courses, 43 credit hours of electives and 3 credit hours for a required capstone course. Some courses have mandatory participation schedules, while others can be self-paced. The program begins with an online orientation so that students can meet the faculty and their fellow classmates. The 12 core courses, which are taken one at a time, cover topics such as managerial accounting, leadership, operations and supply management, and more. Each core course lasts five weeks and is capped off with a final exam or project. The 17 available electives, which cover disciplines such as finance, international business, marketing, and supply chain management, are also available for students to customize their studies. Students can choose to start the program in January, May, or August.

There are 515 students in the ASU Carey Online MBA class. The typical student has 5.5 years of work experience and graduated college with a 3.3 GPA. Of the students enrolled in the ASU Carey Online MBA program, 39 percent earned an undergraduate degree in business, 27 percent earned an undergraduate degree in the humanities/social sciences and 16 percent studied engineering. In addition, 39 percent of the most recent class identified as female and 7 percent are international students, coming from countries like Canada, China, Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, South Korea and India.

ASU Carey Online MBA students can take advantage of career development tools through the Graduate Career Center (GCC). The GCC team offers one-on-one career coaching, as well as workshops on creating résumés, conducting interviews, and using social media. Online MBA students also have access to job fairs and online resources for industry and company research.

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid

The tuition fees for the ASU Carey Online MBA program is $66,266. Along with Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loans and private loans, graduate students can also seek additional funding for their education through Federal Direct PLUS Loans. Merit- and need-based scholarships and special offers for military veterans are also available through the university.

Admissions

Those interested in attending the ASU Carey Online MBA program must complete an online application. The application also requires applicants to submit an essay, resume, contact information of recommenders, and an application fee of $70 for domestic students or $115 for international students. Following this, applicants then submit transcripts (unofficial transcripts can be submitted in the application; official transcripts are required following acceptance). International students must also provide proof of English language skills, either through the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE tests.
