Overview

The University of Washington Foster Hybrid MBA program combines the same rigor of a traditional Foster MBA with the convenient schedule of online coursework and quarterly 4-to-5 day in-person campus sessions. The Hybrid MBA program takes 21 months to complete and is taught by Foster’s high-caliber MBA faculty. The University of Washington estimates that 95 percent of the program can be completed online.

Curriculum

The Hybrid MBA program curriculum comprises 50 credits of core courses and 12 credits of Hybrid MBA electives. Courses cover topics such as Competitive Strategy, Managerial Accounting, Corporate Finance, Leading Teams and Organization. In the second year of the MBA program during Quarter 4 and Quarter 6, students have the option to study abroad.

Class Profile

The Washington Foster Hybrid MBA Class of 2025 is made up of 70 students. The typical student has 7.6 years of work experience and has an average undergraduate GPA of 3.4.  37.5 percent of the class is female and 20 percent of the students are active or former military members.

Careers

The career management services at Washington Foster are available to Hybrid MBA students and graduates. These services include workshops on career development, executive presence, and leadership skills.  In addition, executives and entrepreneurs from a diverse array of companies serve as guest speakers to share their thoughts on leadership, globalization, business growth, and innovation. Washington Foster Hybrid MBA students have access to virtual one-on-one career coaching and they can enter the Hybrid MBA Mentorship Program to receive career advice from successful Washington Foster alumni. Other career management opportunities include job search and career shift groups with other MBA students.

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid

The total cost of the Washington Foster Hybrid MBA is $96,000 for both in-state and out-of-state residents. Students are eligible for federal and private loans. Scholarship opportunities may be awarded over the course of the two-year program. U.S. military veterans may be eligible for benefits to help fund tuition and fees.

Admissions

To apply to the Hybrid MBA program, applicants must create a Washington Foster Online Applicant Profile, then submit two recommendations, two essays, resume, unofficial transcripts (official transcripts can be submitted following acceptance to the program), and an $85 application fee. Interviews are by invitation only. Applicants need a minimum of three years of work experience and a four-year baccalaureate degree from an accredited university (or international equivalent). GMAT, GRE or EA scores are optional. International applicants may need to submit proof of English language proficiency.

Applicants are only admitted in the second and third rounds on a space-available basis.
