Overview

The University of Georgia Terry Online MBA program allows students to earn an MBA degree with the flexibility of a part-time online format. The program takes between 17 and 23 months to complete at an estimated weekly time commitment of 20 hours. Students take a mix of core and elective courses and can opt to specialize in one of four Online MBA Concentrations. About half of the students enrolled in the program hold an undergraduate business degree. In addition, the Terry Online MBA program requires applicants to have a minimum of two years full-time work experience upon matriculation to the program

Curriculum

The Georgia Terry Online MBA program consists of 48 credit hours split into eight 12-week-long modules. The program can be completed in 17, 20, or 23 months. For each of the first five modules, students take two core courses. In each of the final two modules, students take three elective courses. Students may choose to specialize in one of Georgia Terry’s four optional Online MBA Concentrations, which consist of Finance/Accounting, Innovation/Entrepreneurship, Leadership/Human Resource Management, and Operations Management. These concentrations inform the core and elective courses that a student takes. For example, within the Finance/Accounting Concentration, students take core courses in Financial Accounting & Reporting, as well as Managerial Finance. In terms of electives within the Finance/Accounting Concentration, students would take electives in Financial Statement Analysis and Financial Modeling. Additionally, Georgia Terry offers its Online MBA students the opportunity to travel for an in-person eight-day residency program with a focus on exploring regional and international business environments. The residency program offers in person locations both in the U.S. and outside the U.S.

Reviewing the Georgia Terry Online MBA class profile, the average enrolled student has 9 years of work experience and a 3.4 undergraduate GPA. 36 percent of the class are female, 19 percent are students from an underrepresented minority group, and 47 percent of the class holds an undergraduate business degree. 

Careers

Through the Career Management team at Georgia Terry, Online MBA students receive one-on-one coaching which involves career mapping, networking, creating resumes, developing a LinkedIn profile, preparing for interviews, and improving negotiation skills. Both during the program and following graduation, students have access to career tools such as personal assessments, online career courses, and access to the University of Georgia alumni network. 

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid

The total tuition cost for the Georgia Terry Online MBA program is $55,043, not including course materials and the optional residency programs. The school suggests that students allot $2,000-$2,500 for course materials for the entire program. Domestic residency programs generally cost $1,500-$2,500, while international residencies generally cost $3,500-$5,000. Student loan funding can be requested to fund residency experiences. All applicants are considered for a limited number of merit scholarships upon application submission. Students can apply for federal aid by completing the FAFSA form. Veterans and military personnel may be eligible for additional tuition benefits.
